About this course

This Forklift training course in Mackay will equip you with the knowledge and skills to safely operate a forklift truck for use within the mining construction and general construction industries.

A High Risk Forklift licence is ideal for those looking to perform forklift activities across a wide range of industries.

If you are required to operate a forklift truck, you will need to hold a current High Risk Work Licence – LF.

Training requirements

The following are required to commence enrolment in this forklift licence QLD course:

• Be at least 18 years old at the time of training
• 100 points of identification (Click here for Work Safe QLD’s ID requirements)
• USI number (Click here to obtain a USI number)
• Be able to read and write in plain English

The following are required on the day of training and assessment:

• 100 points of identification (Click here for Work Safe QLD’s ID requirements)
• Steel capped/composite boots
• Long-sleeved, high visibility shirt (high visibility vests available for loan)
• Long pants
• Hard hat (some are available for loan on the day)

Momentum High Risk Training will provide all training materials and stationery.

• You’re welcome to bring your own lunch as fridges and crib rooms are available for use; or
• Various lunch options are available close by at the Mackay Harbour

Inexperienced workers

Where the student is an inexperienced worker, they may require a longer timeframe to fully absorb the knowledge and practice the skills before being assessed. In this case, our trainer/assessor will recommend for the student to complete further training at their work site, under the mentorship of a supervisor, with training activities recorded in a logbook. After completing the nominal hours logbook training, and gaining the relevant knowledge and skills, the student will then return to MHRT once ready to be assessed.

Course outcomes

You will receive a Statement of Attainment in TLILIC0003 Licence to operate a forklift truck issued by Halo Nation Training (RTO No. 32485) and an Candidate Assessment Summary will be emailed once you have been deemed competent.

To apply for your High Risk Work Licence (HRWL), please contact Work Safe QLD online within 60 days of your completed assessment.  Please retain your Candidate Assessment Summary (CAS) as proof of evidence until your HRWL arrives by mail.
