About this course

The Non-Slewing Mobile Crane Course will equip you with the knowledge and skills to safely operate a non-slewing mobile crane for use within the mining construction and general construction industries.

The following topics are covered within this non-slew mobile crane training course:

  • You will have a strong process of how to plan your work
  • Conduct routine checks
  • You will be able to set up your non-slew crane
  • Transfer loads
  • Mobile load
  • You will know exactly how to shut down and secure your crane

If you are required to operate a non-slewing mobile crane, you will need to hold a current High Risk Work Licence – CN.

Training requirements

The following are required to commence enrolment in the Non-Slew mobile crane course in Mackay:

The following are required on the day of training and assessment:

  • 100 points of identification (Click here for Work Safe QLD’s ID requirements)
  • Steel capped/composite boots
  • Long-sleeved, high visibility shirt (high visibility vests available for loan)
  • Long pants
  • Hard hat (some are available for loan on the day)

Momentum High Risk Training will provide all training materials and stationery.

  • You’re welcome to bring your own lunch as fridges and crib rooms are available for use; or
  • Various lunch options are available close by at the Mackay Harbour

Course outcomes

You will receive a Statement of Attainment in TLILIC0040 Licence to operate a non-slewing mobile crane issued by Halo Nation Training (RTO No. 32485) and an Candidate Assessment Summary will be emailed once you have been deemed competent.

To apply for your High Risk Work Licence (HRWL), please contact Work Safe QLD online within 60 days of your completed assessment.  Please retain your Candidate Assessment Summary (CAS) as proof of evidence until your HRWL arrives by mail.
